About Us

Who Are We?

We are the Southern Ontario Adventist Regional Youth Network, otherwise known as #SOARYN! We represent youth, young adults, students, Pathfinders & Master Guides in 26 different churches, clubs & public campus ministry groups known as Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF). Our goal is to build up our youth leaders, foster genuine friendships and empower our young people for Christ's service.

In 2014, there was an idea for there to be a gathering of all the youth and young adults in the Southern Ontario region for a summit where young people could worship together, fellowship and meet new people within their region and thus build their networks. The summit would also give young people opportunities to build their skills, access resources and gain new insights for their lives and their ministry. This summit would also allow youth leaders in the region to meet, express their joys and trials in ministry, be exposed to what other youth ministries are doing, dialogue about creative solutions to unique and shared problems all while building a strong support system for leaders. With the summit being held at the Kitchener-Waterloo SDA Church, the summit was a success, but the leaders and attendees didn't want it to stop there. They wanted to be able to fellowship with other young people more often and the leaders wanted to be able to discuss and grow their ministries on a more consistent basis. This desire gave birth to SOARYN! Since then, the ministry has really taken off to new heights.

SOARYN now has it's own executive team and is managed as one of the 11 official regional youth associations under the Adventist Youth Department of the Ontario Conference Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada. Through our ministry events like our annual youth summits and camp meetings, we are creating safe spaces that allow youth and youth leaders to express themselves, be vulnerable and grow in Christ.

Our Vision

To build and nurture a community of seventh-day Adventist youth and young adults that is passionate for Christ!

Our Mission

Our desire, based on Biblical truths, is to create a safe environment that fosters spiritual growth, authentic fellowship, mentorship and relationships, and equips youth ministry groups with in-reach and outreach resources.

Our Executive Team

As voted on by the youth leaders of SOARYN, the persons below comprise the executive team of SOARYN. They are responsible for the day to day management of the region and work together to support young people and youth leaders in a variety of ways. Best of all, each of these individuals love the Lord and have a burning passion to serve Christ with all their heart!

Our Fundamental Beliefs

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians. Currently, Seventh-day Adventists hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six categories—the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events. In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity. If you click on any our beliefs, you'll be brought to a page that further explains that Fundamental Belief.
